D-Day, June 6, 2002:
Fifty-eight years ago today, Allied troops bled heavy casualties – against 150,000 Nazi killers and hellish artillery shelling and torrential machine gun blasts – to storm the beaches of Normandy. As war further engulfed Europe, American G.I.s dubbed the rhythmic fire from automatic rifles – that shred into pieces their friends and enemies by the millions – the “Devil’s Piano”.
This 2002 D-Day, Sherri (spelled with an i) is in the trenches, on the front lines of the American War on Obesity. At 5’6″ and 260 lbs., Sherri blows the up the medical charts like a V-2 German sausage rocket with a whopping 43.4 Body Mass Index (BMI) payload – calculated by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) as weight/[height]2 x 703.
